Thank you for your exhaustive reply. You gave me some really useful
suggestions and ideas, you seem to be an experienced debugger of
unwilling e-mail software. I will certainly be using some of your
tips in the future, if necessary.
I found the solution to my problem. A very peculiar thing has
happened not long ago (while I was using beta 1): a filter was
created and I was not involved in the process. Someone or something
added a second filter called "Mailing BETA" (while mine was
originally called TBBETA), positioned as the very first filter. And
yes, on the Actions tab the "Mark message as read" option was
checked, an option I would never use.
I am very very very positively sure that I did not (I repeat: did
not) create this extra filter. And since I am the only one using my
computer I am pretty convinced that somehow The Bat! itself was the
creator of this malignant filter.
But how??? Please please, tell me. People from Ritlabs?
