I seem to remember that you had to enter some string at some point.
Maybe it is for searches. I don't know. But searching for the
letter 'e' is less ambiguous than searching for a blank string. So,
since TB doesn't do whole word searches only, I use 'e' instead of
wildcards. Try hitting Ctrl-F and searching for a blank string. It
doesn't work so well.

Probably more like I'm missing something. I think it comes down to
personal preference and personal sense of logic. :)
