This is another question that should go into the FAQ. The answer is
no, not automatically. You may do it manually by pressing Ctrl-*
(the * on the number keypad). And no, there's no keyboard shortcut
to close all thread. The nearest thing to that effect is to press
Alt-0 (to switch to no-threading mode) and Alt-1 (or other number
key, to come back to threaded mode), and they'll be all closed.
