I am a longtime Eudora user trying out The Bat. I decided to try it
out because I like the idea of templates for each mailbox (in Eudora I
always wanted to be able to have it automatically know which sig I
wanted to use for each list). Also, Eudora gives me big resource
problems.
Anyway, I've read the help files but still have questions (and
probably more to come):
1. What is a "colour group"? How do you use it and how do you create
it? I feel like I must have missed this in the help file but have not
found anything so either it isn't there or I didn't know it when I
read about it.
2. What is the purpose of flagging a message? Is it only that it
puts a red flag next to the message?
3. Is there anything in The Bat comparable to labels in Eudora? If
so, what?
4. Searching. How to do you search across all mailboxes.
Alternatively is there a way to search across specified mailboxes?
This is fairly easily done in Eudora.
5. I read somewhere that the next version will have MAPI. I saw
speculation that would be out in February this year but obviously that
is delayed. Any ideas when the next version will be out and why it is
held up?
6. Anyone know if additional font choices are expected for later
versions.
7. Oh, when writing a message, is there any easy way to switch back
to the main The Bat page? I find myself needing to do so, and find it
less than easy to do so.
