Hi Gerd,

On 25 July 2000 at 09:19:11 GMT +0200 (which was 08:19 where I
live) [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote and made these points on the subject
of "TB! Version 1.45 and Version 1.45 S/MIME":

You're welcome.

... and I have always used a single executable folder.

GE> Shouldn't I do that ?

The crux of the beta issue is usually the mail-base. There hasn't yet
been a version that couldn't stand the executable being overwritten
and subsequently back-graded to the previous release in emergency.

As long as you back up your mail-base you should be okay. OTOH unless
you have a dual mail-base (one for regular use and one only for the
beta), you could easily get yourself into trouble running two
different versions on the same mail-base. Also, since the location of
the mail-base is held in HKCU in the registry, you would need to log
on to your PC as a different user to make use of a separate TB
installation.

All-in-all I guess I'm saying no, you *shouldn't* do that.
