This has been asked a couple of times now, perhaps it is ready for
the FAQ treatment?
There is one way of deleting a message rather than moving it to the
Trash folder. That is to set up a manual filter with source and
destination folders both being the Inbox. Now set the filter to
delete the message under the Actions tab. Once that is done, go to
the Options tab and select a hotkey to run the filter. Make sure
that "Check the selected message against this rule" is cleared.
Now select the message you want to delete from any folder and hit
your hotkey. The message will be deleted. ****WARNING:**** If you
use the Folder->Refilter option, any messages not caught by other
filters *WILL* be deleted. Even if you don't want them to be
deleted.
I think Ming-Li posted a discussion of this problem, but I admit that
I don't remember all the details. I'll let him or someone else
expand further. Unless of course I find his message first.

How do you read your mail? If you use the preview pane with the
message list and folder list visible, then you could do an easy work
around. Create a folder for the complete junk mail. Under the
Folder properties, set "Keep messages in base for xx days" to zero
and set the folder to "Remove Old messages" and "Compress" on exit.
Then it is a simple matter of dragging the message from the original
folder into your Junk folder. Every time you close TB, this folder
will be cleared. If you don't like the mouse, you can always use the
keyboard shortcut CTRL-V for moving. However, this only works if the
focus is on the message list.

Sure, you may want to create a Read filter so that it gets moved when
the message is read. TB defines having been read when it
automatically marks the message as read and you move the focus to
another message or folder.
