I have no desire to view an html message or send one. I have TB! set
up to view in plain text. My friends often send me barely readable
html messages. I refuse to even try to decode the mess they send me. I
can't wait for the day when they realize that they don't need to use
html to express themselves. They remind me of when I first went on
line and thought html e-mail was "so cool" That was back then I was on
AOL [shudder] and honestly didn't even know what the internet was. And
of course, I didn't even realize that so much of AOL mail is
indecipherable on other e-mail servers.

I like checking out usenet when I get the chance. For the longest
time, my newsreader of choice was Gravity, but there was something
lacking with the program. Now, I'm trying Agent and have recently
downloaded XNews. I'm having fun with both. I think, though that I'm
going to stick with XNews. Yeah, I know you can't off-line read with
it. But, I've recently started using the cable modem, so I guess I
don't have to worry about that. I just love the way XNews is set up,
and the fact that Luu Tran is constantly upgrading it. Honestly,
though, I seldom post on usenet, I'm more of a lurker.
Sorry for babbling, but my point is: Why the need for a newsreader
with TheBat? I've got enough junk bloating up my computer, do I really
need more? If there is an overwhelming need for a newsreader to be
incorporated with TheBat, please make it a plug-in.
PS: I hope that this semi-newbie isn't going to be "trouted" for being
a bit long winded.[though my kitties hope that this is the case, since
it's been a long time since they've had fresh fish. <G>]
