Perhaps not a need, but a desire to be able to organize, manage, store
messages from both sources together. I download 1000's of messages a day
related to my work from both newsgroups and mailing lists. I save 100's
of them. When I need to find something, I have to plough through both
sources separately, as well as Web page bookmarks, saved Web pages, and
other documents. There are some information management tools available
for combining mail and newsgroup messages in a single database, but they
are time-consuming to use.

RIT Labs also has to consider that many, if not most, offices prefer one
program for dealing with mail and news for various reasons. I don't know
if they have any hopes in those markets any longer, but they once did.
