There's no firewall anti-virus solution in use. The mails in question
can be viewed if I use the "dispatch on server" window and it can also
be received without problems with Netscape mailer. I think it has to
do with TB's special behaviour with attachments, I don't know any
other mailer that extracts all attachments immediately after receiving
the message. IMHO, there are two separate problems here:
- The sending mailer inserts the complete path to the attached file
into the MIME info. I still don't know if this is generally valid at
all. If it isn't, they might be using an old version of their mailer
or it's a new bug.
- TB doesn't like that complete path at all (as I said, the filename
is mangled in the "dispatch on server" functions, too) and trashes
the file. That's certainly a bug.
I haven't had time to do much testing, especially on the second issue.
One should be able to construct a message containing a MIME
attachment, but with the complete path for the file. If that mail is
received by TB, the attachment will be trashed, I think.
Best regards,
