I'm going to stop contributing to this thread as I suspect I'm just
raising hackles, but this is my last contribution on this topic on list. Feel free
to correspond with me off list.

To be honest, my problem is that I don't know PRECISELY what I want to
see. I want the functionality of The Bat but I want the graphic
interface of something like OE or Becky that allows me, as a Windows
user to use the benefits of TB with a more instictive interface. I
have seen some good examples of GUI through Linux but so far do not
have it. Also I have seen some unix front-ends which I thought
terrible. And there are some crap Windows programs around as well!

I could live with the existing interface I suspect if the editor were
different. What I really want here is in TB 1.4x versions is to be
able to use an external editor by choice with proportional fonts, too.

I am aware that opinions differ on this subject and I respect others'.
But there are those out there who, I am sure, are getting bored by
this exchange in this forum. Again I'll be pleased to hear from
 anybody off list.
