I'm just testing The Bat! and with the exception of this problem it seems
to be the best mail client I've ever tested. The trouble is, if I can't
solve this I won't be able to use it... ;((
Situation:
==========
I correspond with a group of colleagues. Each of them has their own folder
in TB and I want to keep all correspondence with each in their own folders,
creating filters to move all outgoing and incoming messages to the
appropriate folders. Sounds simple, but it seems that it isn't.
Problem:
========
The Bat! doesn't seem to filter on individual header fields. So when you
set a filter for "Recipient" it polls both the To: and the Cc: fields. The
trouble is, all my messages to and from the workgroup always include CCs to
the three administrators who are members of the group. This is a company
policy requirement and I can't change it.
The result is that instead of getting saved to the right folder, outgoing
mail is always saved to the folder defined by the first filter that
contains one of the addresses in To: *OR* the Cc: list. This creates total
chaos, and there doesn't seem to be any way to change it. I've tried
filtering on a number of variations of [To: Name Name
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>] but it doesn't seem to work.
Is there any way of solving this or have I hit a Catch 22 that isn't
covered by the program's filtering algorithm?
I find it very difficult to believe that a powerful program like the The
Bat! would be incapable of something as simple and obvioius as filtering on
single header fields...
Greets,
Tim
