Well, I disagree with you, but that's ok, I don't require stickiness;
it wouldn't bother me if none of the views stuck. What confuses me is
when *some* views stick *some places* but not all.

OK, but just out of curiosity, what can you do in folder view that you
can't do in the main view (aside from full-width viewing)? IOW, from
the enduser's point of view, what would be the differences between
hiding the account tree, and activating a folder view? The only (very
nice) advantage I see is the ability to have several folders open at
once.

there is, although, it appears only in a context-sensitive pop-up menu
and not in the toolbar or main menus. Right-click on a message when
you're in folder view, and you should see "Create a New Message" in
boldface. Or use Ctrl-N. I'm sure the command will make it into the
toolbar/menus at some point :)
