I know what you mean. The message lists for the view folder window works
independently of the main windows list. If you were to do the reverse by
alt+clicking on a new message in the view folder message list then you
will not see the effect reflected in the main windows list either.
I agree that there should be an option to synchronize the message list
views between folder view and the main window, but only if it were
implemented as a per folder setting and not global. If synchronisation
were made global I'd prefer how things are now.

True. Usually the synchronisation in this instance gets in my way.
