Well, you don't really need a whole article for this. :-)
When TB! filters, it checks each message against the filter group in use
(for incoming messages, it would be the incoming message filter group),
starting with the first filter rule at the top of the filter list and
working its way to the last filter rule at the end of the list.
Now, as soon as the message matches a filter rules' string search, the
message filter rule is applied and the message is *not* matched with any
subsequent filter rule unless both of the following criteria apply :
a) the applied filter rules' option to 'continue processing with other
filters' is enabled
and
b) the message is not being moved to another folder by the filter being
applied.
