Just opened an account with mailandnews.com, and indeed the messages
are shown to have dates from 1995 when I use the mail dispatcher
with IMAP4 connection. If I change the account to POP3, all is fine.

I couldn't duplicate the problem with missing characters, probably
because TB automatically add a couple of trailing blank lines at the
end when sending out messages. I tried hard to remove them all, even
exported a test message, took out all trailing blank lines (and
inspected it in hex mode to make sure there's no 0D0A at the end),
imported it back into the Outbox to send it. Still no problem. I
check the message in my Sent folder, and alas, TB add two or three
pairs of ODOA at its end.

That said, when I inspected the received test messages in my
mailandnews.com account, there's no sign of anything being removed
at the end. Even those line separators. So, if you like, you may
send me a test message and I'll see how it turns up.

BTW, even with this problem, there's no need to abandon that
account. mailandnews.com support both IMAP4 and POP3. I changed my
account settings to POP3 and everything was fine. The problem with
dispatcher showing wrong date was gone, too.
