Set it to check mail manually (Acct Properties, Options, Mailbox
checking - don't check). Use F2 or AltF2 (for all accounts - I
download from 17 accounts simultaneously - Calypso does that
consecutively).

No, it's not. If you use Crtl+U the message stays unread, I think.
(or right click and select that).

If I recall, they have to imported separately.
You import as a unix box.
