In that case, perhaps you're better off using colour groups.
In the Folder View panel and in the main window, under the
message menu, you'll find
Message --> Colour group
First, you need to define a few colours:
--> Edit colour groups
Click on [New], chose a name and a unique ID, e.g. [ToDo],
chose a colour under [Edit]. Click ok.
Now, you can select a message (via the message menu) and
assign it a colour. All your ToDo messages will have that
colour. (And when you've done the pertaining task, you can
'uncolour' messages by assining the [Group Colour (none).
