Try - in IE - to change the default mailer from TB! to anything else
(maybe none at all), click "Apply" and then change it back to TB! and
click "OK". This helped for me some weeks ago to get TB! back as
default mailer system wide, so I could check the option "Use system
default" in Opera (which, for all the Opera users here, is the easiest
way to use TB! with Opera.).
