You have to justify each paragraph separately but you don't have to
actually highlight them. When you're finished typing, simply hit alt+j and
it will justify the paragraph that the cursor is in.

Note, however, that if you're positioning the cursor in another paragraph
to justify it, do so with the keyboard. If you're repositioning with the
mouse, move the caret with the keyboard by hitting say, one of the arrow
keys once, before hitting alt+j.
