Hello Sergey,
SK> The situation is:
SK> I set View Threads by Subject.
SK> I receive several e-mails (from TBUDL) at a time with
SK> identical subject. (One mail goes with the subject and others
SK> with RE: prefix.) Well, there is no problem: all of them
SK> appear in the same thread.
SK> If I receive such mails separately (in different sessions)-
SK> no luck. In this case one mail - with the subject - is
SK> standalone mail. And the rest (with RE: prefix)form the
SK> thread itself.
SK> 1. Why?
SK> 2. What can I do to have in one thread all e-mails (with & without RE:) which
SK> belong to one subject?
It matters whether you are viewing the threads BY SUBJ or BY
REFERENCE. Both look very much the same but depend on different
mechanics. BY SUBJ will group the messages comparing their
"canonical" subject strings and BU REF uses Message-IDs (in the
kludges for the same purpose. The problem may be caused by your
POP server that attaches different Message-IDs at different
sessions or otherwise modify In-Reply-To fields etc. Thus, the
messages are not from the same thread any more:(
Another possibility if you view messages "by-subj" RE
prefix is not stripped for some reason. Thus "some string" and
"RE: some string" become different subjects from TB! TB! looks
for Re: prefix AFAIK. I don't know if some option helps.
