Hi Homesick,

1.53d was the emergency update which *added back in the uninstaller*
which had been accidentally left out of the previous 1.53 releases.

Does the timing of the crash coincide with the "Periodical mail
checking" cycle? Is there some kind of weird IPC file in the TB folder?
HM> I really don't know what to do.
HM> I've tried to narrow the cause but what now ?
I don't think (from what you're saying) that you *deleted* the old
data. One of my contentions was that it was the data that was
corrupted and was causing TB to crash. Try a *completely* virgin
install with no pre-configuration and no old messages. The backup was
to ensure that your data remained safe in case it's nothing to do with
the data and that you can get it back after trying. Perhaps importing
the data from backup rather than using corrupt data files will cure
the problem.

I don't know about why this would be. If you have a backup / copy of
the registry data, you may be able to restore the registration key
from there.
HM> Thanks very much for any further help with this :-)
HM> BTW, could somebody send me ( or link me to ) some earlier version, like the
HM> Christmas edition which worked perfectly here ? Just so that I can try if the
HM> crashes stop ?
