Yes, these are changed and could affect threading.

These are just compromises and not substitutes of the feature desired.

If you really wish to edit the message and leave the headers intact,
you have to export it as a UNIX mailbox file, edit it in a plain text
editor and then import it when you're through.

An application like PowerPro could make the sequence pretty painless.
You could configure a macro to do each step. Hmmm, I don't know why I
didn't think of this before. <g>
