Hello Marck, 1. Nicked nicknames
MDP> Nicknames must be typed in full and do not complete until you tab MDP> out of the field. On my system, no matter what I try, nickname expansion does not work correctly all the time. If I have a nickname "abcd" for a name "Firstname Lastname" and an address "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" and I enter it into the To: field and tab out, sometimes "abcd" just stays the way it is. It does not expand to "Firstname Lastname <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>". This happens rather often, but I have not found the conditions to reproduce it each time. Nor have I found a way to avoid it. I do not yet believe this problem is unique to my system. 2. Hidden addresses... not >>... can you reproduce this anomaly? MDP> Only if the address is in multiple groups. On my system, this happens even if the address is in a single group. It's very easy to demonstrate. Set up a group "Test", assign the handle "test", check "Hide items if not explicitly selected", add a single e-mail address, First Name: Some, Last Name: One, e-mail address: "[EMAIL PROTECTED]", go to the main program window, click on the "Create a new message" button, click on the "Address Book" icon to the far right of the To: field, and scroll down. You should spot the name "Some One" on the list. Are you able to reproduce this? 6. Leaving the last attachment MDP> The only time I can't delete an "attachment" is when it is a MDP> message.html with no message body other than that which TB has MDP> divined from the html content. This is not what I'm referring to. It might be a good idea if I send you such a message. (I'll only do it if you explicitly grant me permission. It would probably be a resend of a message from NTBugtraq. The attached files are not executable.) If you are not able to reproduce the phenomenon, I'll gladly remove this item from the list. 7. Getting to the bottom of the AB name display > The first question is whether this anomaly is reproducible -- is it? MDP> Not here (Win2k). I suggest the following: take the e-mail address [EMAIL PROTECTED] and copy it 100 times into the e-mail address field of a test entry. (It took me all of 20 seconds to do that on a screen set at 1024x768. If you work at higher resolution, you'll need more addresses.) Save the entry and hover your mouse over the entry in the address book. You should see the screen flash as the editor tries to display the addresses but bumps into the bottom of screen. I actually have an AB entry with this many addresses. These are the addresses of all the mailing lists and stores that I've given permission to send me mail. I also have an incoming mail filter that requires all incoming mail to have Sender addresses in the address book. regards, Andy [Using The Bat! 1.53t under Windows 2000 Pro SP2] -- ________________________________________________________ Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Latest Vers: 1.53d FAQ : http://faq.thebat.dutaint.com
