I've to correct that statement, albeit the 'guess' seems logical it can't be correct in this case, because: If he'd be using / contacting a mail server that does not allow relaying from his IP address he'd not even be able to send the mail but get an error message visible in The Bat!. If the SMTP-server he's connecting to denies the relay it would not even take his mail and send an error back, but drop the connection. This 'back coming' error messages are from third party mail server invoked in the delivery of the message. These servers drop the connection too, so the server trying to feed the mail over there is forced to inform the sender about this failure. This informational mail is the one Dave got. -- Regards Peter Palmreuther mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (The Bat! v1.60g on Windows 2000 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 2) Valencia: Big black tires and everything... ________________________________________________________ Current Ver: 1.60c FAQ : http://faq.thebat.dutaint.com Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
