AFAICT, it is wherever your TEMP environment variable points. By
default on Win98, this is C:\Windows\Temp, but you could easily change
this. To find out where your "temp directory" is, type SET in a
command window and look for the line that starts "TEMP=", which gives
the default directory for temporary files on your computer.
