I've never tried scanning a folder, although when I did move an
infected message to one and scanned it, the plugin picked it up.
Funny, initially, I thought that it wouldn't since the progress bar
went right up to the end. I sat there wondering why it wouldn't pick
up the infection and then it did. I don't know what the pause was
about.

I also tried scanning a folder with 400+ messages and it was very
slow. It also took over my mouse with the pointer flicking between two
points while the NOD32 window flickers into view with each message
check. This is unusable as is.

I've checked how it works with incoming mail and it does work well.
Have you sent yourself an infected message and enabled in the plugin
options 'check incoming messages'?

I can't use the button either. That probably will open up NOD32's
configuration panel when it starts working.

The plugin options do work though. Look at the default settings
options at the bottom. Those work.

No. I haven't stored attachments in a separate folder for a long time.

DVR> Or, could the trial license of my NOD32 have anything to do with this?

Try it with incoming messages.
