Bats- I had the "stuck" message problem on a client's system a while back. It turned out that there was a 5MB Word document attached and the ISP timed out the dialup connection after a certain period of "inactivity". Apparently just downloading mail didn't count as actual activity. I solved the problem by going to the ISP's webmail interface and marking the message as already read. After that the email flow resumed normally. Drove us crazy for a while, though.
