If you have the mail folder in its default location, just copy the
entire installation directory and copy it to the desired location on
the new system.

You also need to export the registry key:

HKey_Current_User/Software/RIT to file and then import the same file
to the registry of your new machine.

Now this is the important part so DO NOT start TB! unless you've
sorted this part out :

The registry key you imported will contain all the previous
installations settings i.e., window sizes and interface settings. More
importantly, the paths to the installation directory and the working
mail folders are within the registry key you exported itself.

If you've moved copied the original installation to the same
path/location as in the old location then you'll be fine. However, if
you've copied to a new location then you'll need to change this in the
registry settings which are easily readable and understandable. You
can do the changes by opening the exported key in an editor and making
the changes, or importing the key in the registry and then changing
the corresponding entries and their values. These are under

HKey_Current_User/Software/RIT/The Bat!

Just go through and check any path that you see there. If it's
different just change it to what it should be.

If the mail folder is not in the default location, you'll have to make
the necessary changes in

HKey_Current_User/Software/RIT/The Bat!/Users Depot

Only when you're finished do you start TB! on the new system. When
done, you can now upgrade to the later version. Watch out though since
there seems to be a problem with the original installation as
evidenced by the backup not restoring as it should. So backup! :-)

Good luck and don't hesitate to ask for clarifying information.
