Although you and I know that the message is part of a mass mail to the addresses in a specific AB group, the %AB macro hasn't got a clue about that and initiates a fresh search from the top of the address book looking for the address in the message it is currently processing. If it finds a match before it gets to your specific group, it will use the record it finds first. Make sure that there are no spurious entries for people.
