Using The Bat! v1.61 on Windows 2000 5.0 Build 2195

Hi TBUDL,

I've started using The Bat, and am tempted to migrate fully from
Outlook. But... there are one or two things puzzling and troubling
me. Perhaps you can help.

1 The programme doesn't close when clicked on the usual X in the
top right corner. Instead, I get the message "Some tasks are now
active. Do you want to exit when they are finished?".

A 'No' tick just makes the box disappear.
A 'Yes' tick brings the box back again, sometimes in several overlaid
boxes at once.

So, how do I close the programme without the current solution of
resorting to the task manager in Windows 2000 and ending whatever task
the Bat thinks it's running - which is nothing identifiable anyway?

2 I'd like to set up some Groups, and can't find ways to:

select names from my address list to copy to the group. They will
move across, but vanish from the main address list in doing so.

show in the main address list which group or groups any given
    addressee belongs to.

send a personalised email to each addressee in the group, so they
receive an email with their name in the To Box and their first
name on the first line of the message itself.

How are these things best done? Answers in simple language, please.

With best wishes
