I am pretty sure I disabled WinXP Pro FW. I'll double check.

Do you use the "Generic Host Process" of WinXP which is another name for
the processes created by "SVCHOST.EXE" file? In a WinXP newsgroup I've
been informed that it can be disabled via the DNS client in WinXP Pro.
