No, the only other times it has crashed would be when I would forget
to Shut Down Zone Alarm 2.6 before Shutting Down the computer from
the Start Menu. (I don't think I'm supposed to be running ZA
on 95, was written for 98, but was desperate after I lost McAfee
Personal Firewall to their bungling. Long other story, and way too
digressive.) When I'd forget, I got a General Fault Protection screen
 and a freeze.

I keep ZA shut down when I'm doing e-mail. I have it configured as
broadly as possible, but it still thinks my ISP is trying to hack me.
I am positive it was off. Hadn't been on IE at all yesterday.

I'm not addressing the other capabilities of my system, as you've
heard from Anne and Jonathan and they're more knowledgeable than I
 am.

When I left the scene last night before replying to your post, it was
not that anything had crashed again. Unexpected out-of-town company
arrived at my door at 8:00 p.m. (Kentucky, CDT time, USA). She's a
close friend and I was happy to have her spend the night.

Sometimes when one invites oneself to spend the night with friends,
the expression used here is "crash," as in "Can I crash at your pad
(your residence)?" Well, you may be young enough to know that
locution also. Just suddenly thought it would be a neat pun. So my
friend crashed, not TB! Oh well, major digression again.

 Back to subject:
I did not send the offending file to Ritlabs. Instead I wrote them a
mail (to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ) and described what had happened,
asking them if they'd like to have the file. Don't think there's
been time for a reply yet.

You have been giving me very good advice. I am learning many times as
fast as I otherwise would, with all the help I'm getting here.
