That's what I figured. I was already using my POP settings for SMTP
authentication, so using the specific setting shouldn't have made a
difference, since it was the same username/pass I was using.

No, I was using separate SMTP servers for both accounts. My university
provides its own SMTP server which I used only for that account. And i
used myrealbox's server for only myrealbox's account.
