SM>> The biggest problem, IMO, is that the help file is inadequate. Inadequate? You're too kind. It is - IMNSHO - the most unprofessional aspect of TB. One of many examples: from the main menu, Options | Preferences, then Help. "The topic does not exist". DOES NOT EXIST?? On a preferences panel?! Now do Options | Editor Preferences, then Help. Hello?? That's help?? PW> I can't stay quiet any longer. At work we use Lotus Notes, (No PW> Choice). I recommended The Bat! to a co-worker for home use. This Lady PW> is a total computer illiterate. She downloaded The Bat!, installed and PW> was up and sending messages within 45 minutes. She does not use all PW> the features because she has no need. I've found this program to be PW> one of the easiest to get people started. She now is pushing our PW> company to take a look at The Bat! to replace Notes. Apples and oranges. Notes is complete overkill if it is used for email only. But even so, Notes is appropriate as an enterprise email system for a large number of users. No way that you'd use TB for this. A few of many examples: Forget your TB password? Fergit it! Need support? Sorry, a mailing list alone doesn't cut it for most companies. Centralized backup? Where are you going to centralize the message base in a secure manner? (And this is coming from someone what has Notes for 12 years and hates it as an email system!) "She now is pushing our company to take a look at The Bat! to replace Notes." A perfect example why "computer illiterates" shouldn't make technical recommendations... jon -- jwayne [EMAIL PROTECTED] ________________________________________________ Current version is 1.61 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
