Hi Thomas, Thanks for explaining that, unfortunately Lotus Notes mail gives no option other than to 'top-post' - so my appologies to all who are offended by this.
I do have the evaluation version of TB!, but am coming to the conclusion that it doesn't do exactly what I want, so I think I will stick with Turnpike as my home email solution of choice. It works well, does exactly what I want, and is a News reader too. Also it's free for Demon subscribers. After all, why fix something that aint broke? What was I thinking of? Thanks to everyone who took the time to respond to my original query, it's great to know that expert users are out there and ready to help. It makes the post easier to read. What you do, is to quote the entire message and just write your comment on the top.
