Yeah, I see what you mean. But I not sure this is quite the reason - because
I  can  wrap this line using ALT-L, and it wraps correctly with the > in the
correct  place  at  the beginning of the line. I can't do that with the html
mails.  If  I  try,  they  wrap but I lose the > and the colour of a replied
line.

Forgive  me  if  I'm a little slow (I'm an industrial chemist by trade not a
computer jock)
