I subscribed to it and to my dismay I see my e-mail address posted in a news group. A quarter or more of the messages on this list are about spam reduction and now somebody is courting it. Apart from that fact, I don't use a news client and am not very interested in purchasing one, just to be able to talk about my favorite e-mail client.
