They apparently are supposed to mess with the address so that harvesters cannot read the address, but looking at the lists, it's far from modified, in fact it is just altered in one way. The @ is changed to " <at> " which I'd hardly call modified to stop spam. Give me 5 mins, and I can convert all the addresses back to valid addresses. If people decide to keep it up, maybe Marck (or any other list administrator/moderator) can add a custom header: X-Archive: encrypt That way the addresses will be completely messed with. Based on what is on the site, the server encrypts the address, then mail sent to that address gets passed through a verification system so that the person posting to that email address must verify they are real (as most spammers don't care on bounces, they won't ever see the mail). But I agree, I think that it might have been nice if something was mentioned. This was partly the reason I spoke with Marck off-list about it, to see his views. - -- Jonathan Angliss ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Comment: Fingerprint: 676A 1701 665B E343 E393 B8D2 2B83 E814 F8FD 1F73 iQA/AwUBPeZRGCuD6BT4/R9zEQKhzQCg3YePNJ9byqqU+V2nPgI1DgnrDGsAn3Yu vhm+VdLxmQv1KH18AXHbBqTh =XVzg -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ________________________________________________ Current version is 1.61 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
