Hello Daniel,

Your message has just been assigned to my "Very Important! Don't
forget!" colour group ;-)

Can I ask for another beer? ;-)
Hmmm, I was quite sure I had once written a message explaining my
Ignore filter, but I can't find it neither in my TBUDL folder nor in
the list archives. I have found bits and pieces referring to it in
different threads, but not the message I though I had written. Maybe I
didn't
Anyway, I'll explain. But first I will say that, although once set up
it works quite well, it is not that easy or convenient to use. You
will see why.
As I say it is the first of my Incoming filters.
Main Rule:
Move from Inbox to Inbox.
XXXXXXXXX Sender Yes
Actions:
Mark message as read
Set message Colour Group to: Ignore (light gray).
Options:
Continue processing with other filters.
Advanced:
Nothing
Alternatives:
Here I include a number of sets, each one with a subject (or
partial subject) or a message ID. For example, as I am not
interested in PGP at all, one of the sets is:
PGP Subject Yes
When I include a MID, I usually include the MID of the first
message in the thread.
The cumbersome or not so easy part is adding a subject or MID to the
alternatives. For a MID I have to:
- show the RFC-822 headers of the message
- look for MID
- copy to clipboard
- open Sorting Office and perhaps expand Incoming mail filters
- select Ignore filter and its Alternatives tab
- click on Add Set button
- paste clipboard into Strings
- select Kludges as location
- and close
See what I mean? That is why most of the times, when I see unread
messages in a thread I am not interested in, I just Shift+Ctrl+M (one
of the very few TB shortcuts I use).
Actually, I did this Ignore filter mainly to prove the concept. I just
wish TB would include a button (and a shortcut for those fond of
shortcuts) to do what I describe above with a single click. In version
2 perhaps? One of these days I will install PowerPro and try to set up
a macro, it's probably possible.
