Objectively :
If you look at it, your questions are always answered. The same for
those posted by other new-comers.
Subjectively:
Some have reason to not feel welcome. This is a difficult area that I
doubt can be resolved, especially if we wish to maintain the quality
of the list from an information resource POV. A list as this with such
a diverse type of membership in terms of global location and in terms
of expertise with TB! and computers in general, will be bound to be a
rich source of information, but also the source of misunderstandings
as well.
You may find yourself on a list that's more friendly to new comers.
However, I doubt you'd get the quality of tech support you'd get here.
It's really great. New comer questions aren't always basic, and
experienced users need to be around in numbers to keep the competent
and accurate answers coming. I do admit that some can be blunted and
seemingly unfriendly. However, that's all part and parcel of a
high quality discussion list as this.
