I don't know if anyone can help on this but, we've just had this query in TB! Forum:
> "When I try to use the option 'update existing archive' I browse the > drive, click on the file. The process starts after having asked me if > it is ok to replace the existing file. The I get the message > > Error reading file D:\bkp_intweb.tbk > > Afterwards, the file has been erased from the computer, which means I > also lost the previous backup" So to check out what should happen I did the same thing using an old backup file from before I upgraded to v1.62 and told it to do an incremental backup to the same file. I got exactly the same result as the forum user - the error message, unable to open file 16-12-2002.tbk - and when I checked where my file was (all 73,002kb of it) I found it had been erased. Using a file recovery program I scanned the drive and found the file and restored it - but it came back at 21kb - so something isn't working correctly and of course the backup file is now incomplete. The help file says you can do incremental backups but for some reason (bug?) it's falling over trying. Can anyone throw any light on this please? Or do I report it to Ritlabs as a bug? -- Cheers, Anne Using The Bat! v1.62 Christmas Edition on Windows 98 4.10 Build 2222 Visit The Bat!
