Hello Thomas, On Saturday, January 25, 2003 at 11:04:41 PM you [TF] wrote (at least in part):

In general backing up incremental ain't done to the same file and logic tells me I have to keep the basic file when creating the incremental changes, but it seems not every body thinks following this logic. I mean ... if somebody says _YES_ at this point, what can be done about him, WITHOUT annoying a dozen of other people by implementing a function that takes away control from me as an advanced user? A function that denies me to store the backup as any file _I want_, build in The Bat!, not limited through the OS, ain't a step forward. So the only way out of this trouble is: if I'm in doubt, and doubt being defined here as "I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing.", I do _never ever_ press "Yes" on a "Overwrite / Replacement Confirmation Message"; never ever. Only because some few think it is a good idea to do so is no argument to restrict lots of others :-) -- Regards Peter Palmreuther (The Bat! v1.63 Beta/5 on Windows 2000 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 1) The universe is like a grapefruit -- it's yellow and dimply, and some people have half of one for breakfast. ________________________________________________ Current version is 1.62 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
