Thanks for your help - It seems to work OK now, but I'm not exactly
sure why!!

I Upgraded to TB V1.62i using the account that worked ( all the
accounts on the machine are currently configured with admin privileges
) and I still got the same error message as before. I then moved TB
MAIL directory to be C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\MAIL, but
still had the same messages appear when trying to run from another
account.

Final, I backed up all the accounts, undistilled TB completely and
then reinstalled and am much relieved to report that all is well. All
accounts can access mail. Trial & error triumphs again. Phew!!
