One other tidbit regarding the Task Manager: I kept it open while sending a message to see if something didn't close after the msg was sent. Something called Connection Centre opened up, then closed when the message is sent, but nothing hangs on as obviously "stuck" and running when it shouldn't. I'm about to check whether TB will stay open or not if I reboot it following this little episode (but of course I can't do that before sending this).
