Transperizer works pretty well for me. I have the Mail Ticker at the top of my screen on top of the window title bar. I have it set less than full width, so that I can get to the window buttons at top right, and being transparent (about 50% opacity), I can see through the mail ticker to see the details of the title bar underneath. That setting suits me fine.
