Neither of those posts address the issue I was bringing up. That issue was/is: Are we talking about taking the time (an extra step) to put an exclamation at the beginning of every memo, just so that the column width can be set to 7? My point was that you can set the column width to 7 and still see *something* (an indicator that the message has a memo). Of course, if you want to see the entire first letter of the first word in the memo, you may have to push the column width to 11 or 12. So my question is this: Are people really taking that extra step to insert ! before each memo so that they can save screen real estate? I thought that the point was to have a memo presence indicator. By skipping the step of inserting that ! and just typing the memo, you can still have an indicator. And still set the column width to 7. Again.... am I missing something? Is this part of an organization system? I'm curious. If it's just a preference thing - OK, I'll shut up. But I was asking if the exclamation point was part of something else (special filter, search criteria, etc.) I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around the idea as it has been explained so far. -- Ken Green TheBat! v1.62r, Win2000 SP4 ________________________________________________ Current version is 2.00 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
