Hi Mark,

Welcome to the list.

1. It always helps us to know what version of The Bat! you are using
and what version of the operating system you are using. Many people
use some form of the following in an address book template for
[EMAIL PROTECTED] address.

Using The Bat! v%THEBATVERSION on %WINDOWSPLATFORMNAME %-
%WINDOWSMAJORVERSION.%WINDOWSMINORVERSION Build %-
%WINDOWSBUILDNUMBER %WINDOWSCSDVERSION

This will automatically insert the information in your e-mail whenever
you send an e-mail to this address.

I don't know your level of knowledge, so if you need any additional
help on templates, etc., let us know and we'll be happy to help you
out.

2. If you are using version 2 of The Bat!, there is a plug-in called
BayesIt! (there's also another one but I can't remember the name) that
is an anti-spam plug-in. It will take care of these kinds of things
for you and save you tons of time as well. Trying to keep up with
inventive spammers by creating filters for each new wave of e-mail is
fun in the beginning, but quickly wears thin. You can get the plug-in
here.

If you are using version 1.62r or below, you can use any of the
anti-spam programs that are out there, such as Popfile, to take care
of this. These programs run on your computer and sit between The Bat!
and your mail server.

If you go to the filter and hit Control-C then it will copy that
filter. You can then paste it in your reply to this e-mail so we can
see how the filter is set up.

I'm pretty sure that the list doesn't allow attachments. At least I
didn't get one. See Number 2 above.

One other little housekeeping item. It's a list requirement to use a
signature delimiter. That's what the two - (dashes) followed by a
space is before the "Regards" in my signature below. The Bat! and
other mail clients will automatically discard anything below the
signature delimiter when you reply to a message. It definitely is a
time saver. This is also something that can be put in a template.
For example, my new message template to tbudl is:

%CURSOR

--
Regards,
%FROMFNAME

Using The Bat! v%THEBATVERSION on %WINDOWSPLATFORMNAME %-
%WINDOWSMAJORVERSION.%WINDOWSMINORVERSION Build %-
%WINDOWSBUILDNUMBER %WINDOWSCSDVERSION

--
Regards,
Terry
