-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello Mark,
On Thu, 13 Nov 2003 11:24:24 -0700 your time, you said: MT> When I view source on Sasha Mcneill, I see plain text without MT> quotes "Digital Cable". Spaces before Digital and between Digital MT> and Cable. Is this what you see... Yes, that's right. I see the same Mark. MT> ...or is there actually a [sp] displayed? No, sorry, I didn't make that very clear did I. The [sp] was supposed to be an indication that you had to copy the whitespaces as well. - From the source view I highlighted Digital Cable including the space before the Digital and the space after Cable. Then I hit Ctrl + C to copy, and pasted it into the string field of the filter. And that worked when I refiltered it. MT> I appreciate this comment. So we are assuming that the developers MT> of SpamPal have scratched their heads until "Raw", and have MT> figured these type of things out and build it into their software Well yes, I think that it is fair to assume that :-) MT> and must continually update the definitions by subscription MT> service that we download to stay up to date with the latest Spam MT> techniques. Have I got this right? SpamPal can/will autocheck for DNSBLs (public Black Lists) updates, and plugin updates and notify you. I've been using SP for a while and it seems to catch almost everything that comes its way. I've only updated a few times as well. The odd one or two messages have got past SP every now and then but once they are added to the SP blacklist that's them sorted. BTW: I never send spam messages directly to the trash with TB! filters. I have a folder called 'Spam' that I filter all the SpamPal marked messages into. It gives me a chance to quickly check (just a visual scan) before deleting to make sure I'm not ditching any false positives. Also, a tip. The default SpamPal setup is to add something like ***SPAM*** to the subject line of messages detected as spam. I uncheck this option and only add the X-SpamPal: header to the messages as the messages look flaming awful if you get a few false positives for a while and you want to keep them. Well I found it that it looked awful ;-) - -- Sln, Simon @ i~n+f~o+w~i+z~a+r~d+.~c+o~.+u~k ***************************************** PGP Key via Web: http://pgp.infowizard.co.uk/ PGP Key via Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Faffing about with TB! v1.62r on W2K SP4 #695.
