The advantage of the tab is that I see all the folders that contain unread messages - when the folder list shows all folders there are, it would involve a lot of scrolling. So, hitting crtl-] is a matter of "surprise, what folder will be opened next?" kind of thing. The unread tab gives me control over which folder I want to open first. And say later on that the feature is redundant. But you don't want to use the option to turn it off. Hm? JR> I just think the concept of a tab that represents folders that have JR> un-read msgs within them is silly since they are clearly visible. That's the whole point: They are *not* visible when the whole account/folder tree is shown. I have a feeling you get your whole tress onto the screeen; over here, the tree is about three screen-heights long, and I have to scroll all the time. The tabs help me a lot here. Nothing silly about it. So I have to scroll down and find three folders with unread messages. If I use the Unread tab, I would indeed "just look". Without it, I scroll up and down continually (after each mail-check, to be precise). JR> Sorry, I just don't get it. I wish I did. Switch the option off, you don't need it. For those of us who do have a lot of folders (across several accounts) it is a *very* useful feature, IMHO. -- Cheers, Thomas.
