It sounds like he's running a v1.xx flavour of TB!. The registration
of those versions do involve the use of a passphrase that is given in
and around the online purchase. If he can't remember the passphrase,
he'll need to contact Ritlabs sales department where for a small fee,
they'll reprocess his registration, providing a new passphrase.
